Aldi likes to create their own brand for most items. I was responsible to get all Finished Art done for their Packaging.

Looking into the print techniques and suggesting to the designer spot colours and possible gradients.

All splash images on the different packs are made of multiple photographs and I resorted to my colour management knowledge to have a perfect outcome on press.
Even the simplest design can be a challenge on press. Using the right amount of trapping ensures that errors are kept to a minimum.
Most Water-based Labels are printed in Flexo which requires special care for those soft gradients.
Aldi is very specific about their legal information on their packs.

Tetra Packs are always a special challenge. Especially when you try to keep the colours as vibrant as possible.
Aldi has a unique and very successful retail system. They keep the prices extremely low by eliminating most bull. The design gets approved extremely fast and my task is to find the best solution to produce it. Sometimes I had to create the die-line, then you chose the best combination of spot colours and process while sticking closely to the printers specification as there is not much room for testing. They outcome was often remarkably good as Account Service had little chance to interfere with the process. I showcase here only a few selected items.
